Best Buddies Durango High School Chapter |
Officers and advisors from Best Buddies Durango High School have been working really hard since September to collect all Best Buddies Membership Applications, hold Peer Buddy Interviews, and make outstanding matches for the 09-10 school year.
Last month the chapter made 15 Buddy Matches and held a Match Party to celebrate. Over 60 people were in attendance, including faculty, parents, family, and friends of the participants in the chapter.
The officers filled the entire cafeteria with balloons and Best Buddies posters. All of the tables were covered with construction paper that held quotes about friendship. A Best Buddies Banner was held high above the room and pictures of each Buddy Pair where taken underneath.
The night started off with Josh Myles, the Chapter President giving a speech about Best Buddies and his vision for the chapter on the campus.
Each officer also spoke about what Best Buddies means to them, and the closing speech was given by Mr. Gum, the principal.
Mr. Gum expressed his extreme enthusiasm for the program and his true belief in creating inclusion for all students on the Durango High School Campus.
The evening was a huge success and all of the matches were so happy to finally meet their new BEST BUDDY! |
